So uh if you did see uh NATO countries catalyzing around a five percent of GDP spend envelope, then regardless of what you see in the PMIs, you would have to think that the U Europe
defence sector is going to continue to uh rise.
Uh and you'd have to think that m more um that would be a catalyst for greater structural reform in Europe as well.
So uh although the growth relativities may uh change from month to month, that secular trend of uh Europe outperforming in terms of asset markets because of those possibility sh structural reforms, I think would would would still be in play.
That's right, the monthly CPI indicator, and it's for May.
So being the mid month of the quarter, it has much better coverage of the services side of the CPI basket.
So AdNab, we expect the May CPI indicator to fall to two point two percent year on year from two point four percent.
The consensus is hovering around two point three to two point four.
And following that data piece, we'll update our expectations of the full quarterly CPI, where we currently see the risk in terms of inflation being a tenth higher than the RBA's forecast for Trim.
mean back in May.
But we're discussing on this call after the first month CPI indicator about the role of new dwelling construction prices and uh how they actually uh lifted by zero point five percent month on month in April.
And uh the key uh uncertainty there was is uh would you see a further lift in May?
And if you did, then I think that would start to challenge um the ability to sustain inflation
near the midpoint of the RBA's inflation target.
So not only is a surface side of the economy very, very important for the monthly CPI indicator for May, but I think a lot of eyes are going to be on that new dwelling um construction uh price component.
If it did sustain that that uh pace that it saw in April, then that would be enough to lift up trim mean by say zero point one to zero point two percentage points on a quarterly basis.
Right.
Which
Which would be quite quite noticeable.
