So, yes, I think acceptance matters.
takes many forms.
And for some people, it is part of their spiritual practice.
For others, it's just a concept.
But I think to answer your question, I think spirituality is extremely important in medicine.
Yeah, and I think that sort of gets into the next tool, which was that concept of flexible thinking.
So yes, once you've accepted what's happened to you, then you're able to say, okay, where am I gonna go from here?
And I remembered interviewing for a story I did for CBS, Lucy Hone, who is a psychologist who studies resilience, who lost her own daughter in a car accident, tragically.
And so here the resilience teacher had to kind of practice what she learned
is teaching in the most horrific of situations.
And she said, it's like this idea of moving a goalpost.
And I thought that was such a beautiful image of taking what you thought was your goal and picking it up and moving it somewhere else.
So you still have your goals for where you want your life to go, your dreams, your visions.
but they're just moved a little bit.
And you're in control of that.
And so I love that concept of having that flexibility in our mind to say, I can pivot, I can shift, I can move the path that I was on.
And that's really powerful.
Just that little bit of knowing I can pick up my goals and move them somewhere else.
Yeah, I think, you know, again, in sort of laying out the book and figuring out which pieces were important in my view and where I wanted them to be, you'll find in the book they're towards the end of kind of the journey.
And purpose is the last one.
