would say that second characterization sounds more like the Bank of Japan style.
But yeah, look, inflation data expected to tick up to 1.7% from 1.5, X fresh fruit and energy measure at 1.8%.
Again, the the usual caveat here is those numbers don't sound particularly concerning for a central bank that's targeting 2% inflation, but they are held down by by subsidy impacts.
And so that'll that'll be consistent with you know that inflation story still suggests.
that the Bank of Japan has a bit more policy normalisation to go.
Phil.
Yeah, good good morning, Phil.
Interesting.
That kind of you know, I suppose earlier last week we did get a reminder of the kind of fragility of the the current situation in in the Middle East and the passage of uh shipping through through the Strait of Hamoose.
And we did see oil kind of creeping higher, rent briefly above eighty midweek, and it paired some of those earlier gains and you know, pretty muted market response, I think.
And even through the course of Friday, we had some comments from President Trump that the the ceasefire was
was over, but um, you know, tempered by some other comments that that talks would would continue and we didn't see uh much of a response at at all in in oil.
And I think, you know, what we've seen over the weekend is, you know, continued and um intensifying kind of tit for tat exchanges over over the course of the weekend that are going to be, you know, another another big test of that.
Um, you know, whether it's it's complacency or or optimism or whatever those dynamics
That's been keeping that um that oil response fairly fairly muted.
And I think, you know, in the background, as as you mentioned there, I think there is this sense that you know neither side really wants to go back to a full scale sale, um full-scale conflict.
Uh both sides have um an incentive in in some uh shipping moving through the the Strait of Hormuz, but there are just you know some sticky challenges there.
You've got you know the US preferring a route on
on the Amani side of the uh the strait so that is kind of testing Iran's kind of control over over that shipping.
And so they're looking to kind of make clear that you know they're they're only allowing uh shipping through um through that uh that chant um passage that that moves closer to their their side.
