So on those task force, you mentioned the the one looking at general purpose technologies and AI in particular and the impact that that will have there.
But you know, we did see the the announcements of who would be on all all of the task force late last week.
And overall, you know, it's a pretty accomplished and pretty serious group group of people.
So I think it would there is likely to be certainly some conclusions or or recommendations out out of this, which will be interesting to watch.
Um, but you know, these things take time.
Um
Um, I think, you know, is worth noting as well, Williams was speaking on Friday.
A couple of things that are relevant in terms of the task force here.
He called the timeline pretty aggressive.
Uh so you know suggests that they will be trying to move pretty quickly, but you know, that's still um still uh uh moving in terms of you know months at at best rather than weeks.
Um and I think on the AI story as well, well, there's the open question about those longer-term themes, whether, you know, that productivity
Boost will be a disinflationary impulse over the medium term.
I think in the near term, and this was Evident and Williams' comments on Friday as well, that concern that just kind of the demand for this AI investment is something that is adding to inflation and adding to capacity pressures at the moment.
I think that's where the kind of near-term AI risk lies, regardless of the result of that.
But as you say, I think, you know, Walsh testimony on Tuesday and Wednesday, and it'll be testing.
On on all of these things about communication and transparency and you know what what AI means for policy and you know, we'll see how he responds to those sorts of questioning.
Yeah, that's right.
So some interesting moves in in Japanese financial markets.
There's outperformance in um in JGBs and some um outperformance in the yen as well.
And it did seem to be suddenly helped by some comments from finance minister uh Katayama who said that the that um you know Japanese uh investors and the the la very large GPIF in in particular should kind of consider uh rebalancing and and weight.
