One thing to watch out for for whether that that 20 basis points of price can can survive in into the meeting.
But certainly the expectation is at the moment is that they are likely to deliver an increase there.
If we look at that CPI number in particular, the Tokyo CPI, the ex-fresh food and energy measure, was 1.6% from 1.9%, and a bit softer than expected as well.
Although, as is often the case with the Japanese CPI statistics.
And and part of the reason why the Bank of Japan has this new national uh measure, which we we spoke about last week, um, that strips out some of these measures.
There was a a temporary water water fee waiver in in Tokyo that that looks like it's weighed on the number.
So, you know, some strength on um the the IP number, um, the labor market, you know, remaining uh you know, unemployment rate remaining steady and and low there, and and that CPI number, you know.
know, again driven by some some policy measures, the surprisingly soft outcome and so nothing to stand in the way of of a little bit more normalisation from the Bank of Japan.
Yeah, that's right.
I I don't think there there's too much more to add there.
The the swings in in kind of in fuel costs look to be look to be driving sentiment, as you say, still well down from where it was late last year, but but off its lows and suggesting that those kind of you know cost pressures that businesses are are facing into remain remain reasonably broad based.
And our our colleagues over at BNZ called out uh retail in particular as one area that that remained a bit of a soft spot.
Yeah, that's right.
And I think the that rating dog manufacturing PMI will be will be interesting.
We did get the uh the official PMIs out of China um on on Sunday o over the weekend and that showed uh manufacturing it it slipped to to fifty point zero.
That was that was as expected, but it did kind of you know continue that slightly softer signal um that was in in some of the the April numbers and did see a bit of a further softening in in U
New orders and a decline in export orders as well.
So it would be interesting to see whether that more kind of SME focused rating dog rating dog number today uh sends a sends a similar message.
And as you say, the the US ISM as well.
Other than that, it's a it's a holiday in WA today, it's a it's a holiday in New Zealand locally.
