Verizon says its service problems have been resolved.

Many customers experienced a major outage on Wednesday, disrupting calls and cellular service across the U.S.

Verizon has not specified the outage's cause, but said engineering teams worked to solve the problem, and they got everything up and running again by Wednesday evening around 10 p.m.

Outage tracker down detector said reports peaked in the early afternoon and remained elevated later in the day.

Impacted customers saw SOS or no signal messages on their phones.
