And a South Carolina police officer shot and wounded while sitting in his patrol car Sunday in what one official called an ambush-style attack.

Local sheriff's deputies later on shot and killed a suspect in a shootout.

That, according to authorities, the Greenville police officer was repeatedly shot early on Sunday.

The officer treated at the hospital and released, according to the city.
