Teens are coming out of a pandemic that changed the entire world, changed the way that people interact with one another.
And this labor market, specifically for teens, they're looking for more socialization.
So according to the Labor Department, nearly 6 million teens aged 16 to 19 years old are working.
Teens are coming out of a pandemic that changed the entire world, changed the way that people interact with one another, changed the way that people socialize with one another.
And teens in this instance missed out on very pivotal moments in their lives.
And this labor market, specifically for teens, they're looking for more socialization.
So their lockdown experience was playing video games.
It was on the phone.
It was just being at home, not doing the things that we all remember doing when we were teens, going to the baseball game, going to the football game, all these other things that teens and middle schoolers do to enjoy life.
They were totally isolated and boxed out of.
Entering a job market, many of these teens are around 16 to 19 now.
They're looking for jobs where they are socializing.
They want to be out there making friends.
Finding friends at work, you're able to meet people who you don't go to school with.
You're able to meet people that you aren't interacting with on a daily basis sometimes, like you are at school.
So this is a way for teens to connect with one another, to have interaction in a space that promotes socialization, specifically ice cream shops or the water parks.
This is a great place where teens who go to different high schools throughout the town can come together and get to know each other.
And nobody's on a Zoom call?
I remember talking to Rocky Rodriguez, a 16-year-old in Texas, about 30 miles outside of the border.
And he came into this workspace not really sure of how many friends he'd make or the types of relationships he'd build.
