The Office of Civil Rights is who enforces um HIPAA obviously and now will enforce part two, whereas that was not the case before.

And uh typically the enforcement efforts are complaint driven.

But there's no shortage of complaints.

I've looked at some statistics um on their website to prepare and they're not up to date, but there were thousands and thousands of thousands of complaints filed every year.

And um and then also providers if they have

to give notice of a breach, um, they're required to report at least annually, depending on the number of individuals involved, those breaches.

And that's another source of potential enforcement activity if the the information given in the required report

gives you off red flags, then you may get, you know, an investigation that way, not necessarily
