You know, there were no better.

Earl, we are no better than these guys.

And now all of a sudden you've taken the game away from that decision making of how they want to approach it or how to teach hitting.

You know, like, don't be afraid to get on the plate and take the ball away from the inside and just take a single right, you know, the other way.

And that's why I said, you know what, if you want to put a shift on, put a shift on.

Every big league player in the game, as you know, takes batting practice.

In the first round, they hit the ball the other way.

They all know how to hit the ball the other way.

absolutely so you know but that's the strategy part of the game so they've taken the strategy out of the game in certain instances okay you can't hold a runner for okay you can't have a shift on okay now yeah and so they've kind of taken away the thought process and that's why i think you're seeing guys today who are getting managing jobs who never managed yes because the decision making they don't have to make decisions

You know, a lot of it's made for him.

The pitching decisions.

Okay, this guy can only throw 75 pitches today.

And the 75th pitch, I don't care if he's pitching a stinking one-hit shutout.

He's out.
