I get kind of annoyed sometimes when people talk about what's going on right now and they say things like, you know, joy is resistance or being happy is resistance.
It's like, yeah, but we also need to, like, call our representatives and do things like actually resist and take action sort of against what's going on.
But...
On the other side of things, I do think that, like, again, I think a lot of people think a lot about what's going on politically right now.
And it can really wear us down and it can feel like this really big, insurmountable, scary thing that does have a big impact on our mental health.
And I think Julia's reaction to that is actually very beautiful.
And she does – she really decides to concentrate on being present in the world, on being aware of her surroundings, on being curious about the people around her, and on cultivating beauty in her life sort of in the face of all that scariness.
Well, completely.
And I think that's the other answer to why these allegations these people are gay or whatever kind of get part and parcel with McCarthyism or with going on Trumpism right now is because at the end of the day, I do think this is about some really dark kind of like eugenics kind of stuff.
It's like we only value white people who procreate and make other white people.
