Global conference, the fifth world congress entitled Uh Research and Innovation.
Um indeed, as you have heard, sepsis is uh
A very important uh health issue that needs to be addressed.
Uh, this conference has approximately 100 uh speakers.
We'll have uh uh uh participants from approximately 100 countries, 180 countries, and it's truly a global effort to address uh sepsis.
Well, why are we here today?
The burden of sepsis remains high and uh it has affected, I would dare say, every one of us in the world.
Um, truly, we all remember the COVID uh pandemic over the past few years.
Um
These are undoubtedly tough times, but I have no doubt that we are up to the task.
Addressing sepsis requires the entire society in which we live.
We need from those in authority, the politicians, we need clinicians involved, we need the lay public, we need patients and families, we need everyone to address sepsis.
And indeed, we
At a global sepsis alliance have worked um
Very diligently in the last few years and have uh
Uh put forward um in addition to the 2017 resolution, we have put forward our 2030 agenda, which you will hear about uh during uh this session.
This agenda is congruent with the 2030 Sustainable Development of Goals and seeks to address all the aspects of the 2017 resolution.
