That is not an insane contract to inherit.

If a team needs a guy like that to put them over the edge, they can also rework the deal once they trade for him.

It depends on how that money is divvied out over how many years.

But basically what I'm saying is that the door isn't shut on a trade just because you do extend him.

In two years down the line, maybe

the draft falls a certain way where you wind up just drafting another edge rusher.
