There's so many different, unique elements of the property that allow it to be what it is.
The gardens and the fresh vegetables, the beautiful restaurants, the tennis court, the views, the rooms, the uniqueness of the rooms, the constant renovations.
These are all things that could, in theory, be optimized to make the property more profitable, to make it more exciting as a business for you.
I think it's a perfect way to introduce my thinking about these sorts of hotels, because I think grouping all hotels under one umbrella
is unreasonable.
Some hotels are owned by big hotel groups and they're built for profit.
Some hotels I think can only be compared to art forms and creative outlets where they're built as a form of expression and they're built to create a feeling.
And I think that's why the people I listed earlier come back to El San Pietro because I think you and your brother and your family and your team, the family within have collaborated to create a very unique work of art and a world of optimization and a world of scale and a world of business first and profits first.
You have continued year over year to be human interaction first, ingredients first, substance first over the status and to really take no shortcuts in the process.

You briefly touched on your passion for preservation, for supporting the local community in the ways that you can, while also benefiting from the incredible local community, artisans and talent.
So it's a beautiful mutual relationship you have.
But you really do care about preservation, preserving art forms and methods that matter to you and to the world.
I think there's one thing that lots of people in Positano and on the Amalfi Coast discuss with preservation.
It's this idea of over-tourism as well, where some people come and maybe don't respect the coast as much as they could.
