It's going to sort of polarise things.

I'm not ruling it out because Australia's long-term interest is paramount.

I want Australia to still be Australia in 500 years from now.

I want it to be Australia.

And you know what?

There's 44 Asian countries in the world.

I think...

Asia, it's a good thing for Asia to have a European country basically just on the doorstep of Asia.

It's good for Asia, good for us.

But I think Asia would think, well, we don't need another Asian country.

Let's have a little bit of Europe, and this is what we are.

We're basically a little bit of Europe here, and we're a very successful country, and we're just going to keep growing, which will be good.

But I don't think there are people up there in the Philippines and Vietnam and China saying, oh, gee, it really annoys me that there's some evil white people down there.

I think, oh, well, look, they've been here now.

They've been here for three centuries.

This is their third century.

I don't think they're hostile.

Now, the left thinks...

The Western left thinks, oh, the Asians must hate us being here.

No, I think it's good for Asia to have a European country here.
