We're here in South Australia.

Let's say in six months' time, 70% of people hate Premier Malinowskis.

They're out in the street wanting to get rid of him, right?

We can't do anything about it.

Under our Westminster system, the only thing that could happen in that situation is the governor could sack Malinowskis.

Now, that's happened once or twice in Australian history.

But in the United States, what you do is, when you've got a really unpopular politician...

you can get, it's usually about 5% of the entire state to sign a petition saying we want to recall this person and have a fresh vote.

And you only need about 5% of people to trigger it.

Now, people think, oh, 5% is easy.

No, it's not.

You've got to walk around, knock on doors, and you've got to get a whole ton of people to sign a form saying that it's the recall.

But what it does is it keeps the politicians on their toes.

They think, look, if I'm really bad, the people will recall me, which means there's basically a by-election.

It doesn't happen often in the United States, but it happens every now and again.

And there would be a recall election in the UK right now if they had the mechanism, but they don't have the mechanism.

And we want to have that mechanism in Australia.

Well, this is why it's good news that Angus Taylor has taken a pretty hard line position.

Yeah.

It's the hardest line position of any Liberal leader on immigration since Robert Menzies.
