So they're rushed laws made in a way when people are understandably emotional.
if we had a three-month debate, a three-month wait, where they just couldn't pass law, I think we'd end up with better laws.
And I think in a lot of these cases, they'd be saying, you know what, look, this was a one-off situation.
We don't need to burden future generations with less free speech or less access to firearms.
Now, the best example of a cooling-off period would have been after 9-11, which, you know, I was 30 years old when that happened.
Totally freaked everybody out.
And...
You know, Wesley Clark, a pretty senior guy at the Pentagon, has come out now and emphatically said, yeah, well, look, about two days after, I was told that we were going to invade seven countries.
And he's a credible guy, Wesley Clark.
And I believe that's entirely what happened.
They basically decided when they were really upset about 9-11, 3,000 people dead right in the heart of New York, two beautiful buildings, totally unprovoked.
And, you know, and like people were, and the people were also thinking, you know, is there going to be more attacks?
Okay, and everyone's, you know, really upset.
And a lot of people in Washington, a lot of politicians and journalists knew people on those planes.
You know, these are planes going, you know, from Boston to New York.
There would have been, you know,
well-known people on there, which there was.
Now, they then decided, oh, well, let's go and blow up the Middle East, you know, for a quarter of a century.
We're still living it.
