It would be a spontaneous thing.

I've got no problem if there's people who've got, you know, a relative or if they were born in Chile, if they want to get together every day on the National Day of Chile, like their Australia Day, whatever, okay?

And they could have some community leaders come and organise it, put on a barbecue, put on some Chilean food, Chilean dancing, whatever, okay?

And then they would go and organise it themselves.

But then after it starts to get a bit of momentum, the government comes along and then says, hey, well, look, we can give you 100 grand for this thing every year.

Now, the organisers who'd been doing it before, they were thinking, look, we've got to put all of our energy into putting on a really great performance today so people want to come back.

And a big part of that is, well, we can raise money if we put on a good product.

But now when the government comes along and says, oh, you don't need to worry about fundraising.

Here's $100,000 cheque.

And they thought, oh, thank you so much, government.

Thank you so much.

But then there's strings attached if they take the government money.

Saves them a lot of effort.

But then their major thing that they're thinking about, those organisers, is not how to put on a good show and get people to want to come.

They're now thinking, how can I keep the government happy?

Because they're giving us 100 grand every year.

And then the government says, well, okay, here's your 100 grand, but you've got to have a walk in the country.

This is a Chilean association, right?

And then you've got to have a transgender bathroom nearby.

And then you've got to, you know, say something about climate change, all those strings attached.
