um competitiveness and and horizon and all that.
They're all important in our view and all really important.
And we're really, really conscious of lots of people listening to this show that would be, you know, watching you know, for whom the the EU budget actually means their income, uh particularly for farmers.
No, I mean I mean the the whole defence thing is a bit overplayed.
I mean it's i I mean really
What they're looking at really is a competitiveness fund really, which is to to try to fund the business of the future and part of that would be uh defence.
But it's not it's absolutely not the case of farmers versus defence.
In fact, if you go around the Member States, most most governments are very, very keen to protect the common agricultural policy, but they also want to see the European Union investing in the future as well to make sure that we, you know, have manufacturing capacity, that we have the best research and development, that we have the best uh support.
for business to innovate.
And the question is where where we draw the balance.
I mean the European Union is not a defence alliance.
So I think I think sometimes that is just political as a choice between agriculture and defence.
That's not really the case.
Uh that's I I don't think that's fair either.
Like I mean I I I don't think there's any evidence of th of of that being the case.
