When Fannie Lou Hamer was speaking, so afraid of her remarks that Lyndon B. Johnson, you know, again, the victors get to script the narrative, but he did not want people to hear from her.

and so can i ask you sorry go ahead go ahead i'm so sorry i didn't want to interrupt what you were saying because i was so captivated by it but just hearing you go through um history and having the very wise counsel of yeah we got to talk about how we got here but right now like let's talk about how we move forward and i i do see um i mean you a long time member of the republican party and but there were always republican policies that were harmful

So while Donald Trump may be less articulate, he's still echoing some of these same sentiments.

And so as I see people who voted for Trump not once but twice, who support some of his policies, but when they're hit at the gas tank and they say, oh, well, now I'm done with him.

Or when something very specifically tailor-made harms them and then they say, okay, I'm done with him.

People say we have to welcome them because, you know, the enemy of my enemy is my friend or, you know, it's a new, it's a coalition building.

And I'll be honest with you, Steve, that's not my ministry.

I am not equipped to align with people who have always believed a certain thing.

I think they may be more receptive to hear what you have to say.

So I'm just curious from you, this rational person who I know I've been on air with so many times.

What is the message that you say to those people who may still hold some of those racist beliefs, sexist beliefs, people who are anti-trans?

But they want to come align on this side because something very specifically impacted them.

But I do, I appreciate Steve's remarks because there is a demographic that has to hear that message.

And I just, you know, it's not my ministry to deliver it.
