You know, so it's even more heartbreaking to see what was happening to that network before my own eyes.
I built a newsroom.
I was a bureau chief here in D.C.
Julie and I obviously both anchored shows.
And so we know the difference between somebody who's just giving their opinion, somebody who's an actually trained journalist who's skilled in fact finding.
And of course, our friends in print media, we always know there's that like
gap between the print folks who are like, we're the real journalists.
You broadcast people are worried about makeup.
But it's true that print media, that matters as well.
So even a shout out to our print media folks on Substack and wherever else they're building.
I just want to make that clear to your audiences.
Can I just jump in really quickly, Joy, because we really don't even have to go that far to foreign policy.
So yes, certainly during Tiananmen Square, Kent State, the Arab Spring, all of these things, there was a narrative that the mainstream media had to present.
But also, if you think about our own domestic policy, had America not seen what was happening when our ancestors crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge, we would not have seen the change that we did.
And so afraid were they
Um, to, to hear, um, from, um, uh, the activists, uh, Mississippi, my ectomy, Mississippi democratic freedom party.
Um, you know who I'm talking about?
