And I guess you guys, you know, have been here and you've been around and you've felt the atmosphere and how people are literally passionate about what they do.
And, apart from that child...
There's hope.
But it's true, isn't it?
We were lucky enough in the year 2000, which I think one that really sticks in our mind, was getting albatrosses off the hook.
At that time, albatrosses were in major decline.
Like 18 of them were sort of becoming vulnerable, some even critically endangered.
And so BirdLife came to us and said, look, you know, can you raise some money?
No one else will give us any money at all.
And we raised, I think it was about 160,000, something like that, that year.
And now virtually all the albatrosses and petrels are increasing.
I mean, a lot of people do know this, I'm sure, but some of the fishing lines on the back of a fishing boat out in those seas are up to 100 kilometres long.
They have up to 4,000 to 5,000 hooks, all baited.
And of course, you know, unless the hook gets down deep enough very quickly, a lot of those hooks will be taken by seabirds of all sorts.
And, you know, it's just horrendous.
I mean, we're lucky, weren't we?
We went to, we met Marianne Jones.
