Yeah, they they've played well since the trade deadline.
Uh a lot of that is their lineup coming back together, uh even without Juan Soto that we're seeing uh Francisco Lindor perform the way you expect him to perform offensively, uh in a way he hadn't earlier in the season when before he missed time.
Bobachet looks like Bobochet, which he he hadn't done for the first three months of the season.
Uh and so and and Carson Benge, uh the rookie of the year candidate, has had a really nice August and just r really since May first.
Has been one of their best players.
So that lineup is coming together.
They've got some young pitching that's cohering a little bit in Nolan McLean and Christian Scott.
Zach Thornton going six innings last night for them.
Has been a nice find at the back end of the rotation, a guy that probably didn't come into the season expecting to play much of a role and has for them of late.
So it's it's like an encouraging month for them in August, but uh it doesn't quite undo the disappointment of the first four months in Queens.
Yeah, I mean I mean like you said the
A lot of guys have solidified their place.
I think, you know, whatever doubts the Mets had about Francisco Lindor, they feel a little bit better about now than they did maybe a couple a couple weeks ago.
Um same with Beschet as well, that that he seems like he's at comfortable uh in Queens in a way he didn't the first part of the season.
You know, he still has that opt-out decision, which which will be the first interesting domino of their offseason.
I think the guys who have who have something to prove down the down the stretch here, you mentioned Ewing and Thornton.
Uh, you know, is that
Is Zach Thornton gonna be a guy that you pencil into your rotation at the start of next spring training and proceed in your offseason that way?
Or is he someone you say, you know, he's a nice number six or number seven in our organization that that we'll be happy to have him in the rotation next year, but we don't wanna count on it just yet.
Uh AJ Ewing, because he's struggled a bit in August, has hit kind of that rookie wall.
