It's not unexpected.
I still think they probably go into the offseason thinking that that Ewing is their everyday center fielder in 2027.
But it'd be nice if he had a a nice finish to the season.
Uh and then the the bullpen is basically all auditions.
You know, you've got Kodai Senga serving as the the closer on most nights, uh uh converting from the rotation where he was unsuccessful this year.
Uh, you know, a guy who who has a can throw ninety-eight, ninety-nine with his fastball and and can play his fork ball off of that.
It's a it's a mix that could work as a late inning reliever.
And for a guy who's got one year and fifteen million dollars left on his contract, you're really
hope it does.
Uh and then they've got some other guys in there.
Nate Lavender who hasn't given up a run since coming up after the trade deadline.
Uh Daniel Duarte, who's been really good for them up and down all season.
Uh and and everyone's favorite left-handed reliever, Jeffrey Jan, has has looked pretty good as well.
So these are guys that you know can be part of the mix next season as they, you know, they traded off a lot of that that bullpen as they figure out how many arms they need to add in the winter.
Yeah, I mean I think
you know, whatever happens with the with the new collective bargaining agreement, I don't think it's gonna be like a hundred percent installed for twenty twenty seven.
Uh so you know, if you are a team like the Mets, the Dodgers, the Blue Jays, teams that are over the luxury tax, uh, as it currently stands and and all of a sudden there's a hard salary cap uh that's lower than that number or around that number, uh I think there will be a a phase in period of time so that you don't have to, you know, start cutting players uh this winter.
Uh so I I think the the the complicating thing is that the free agent market is not particularly strong.
And and that's probably putting it as politely as possible.
Uh beyond Tarek Scuble, maybe Seya Suzuki from the position player side, we'll see if Bachet is part of that group.
