And you know, the the last time we had this five years ago, the 2021 to 2022 offseason, we didn't see a whole lot change.

You know, that the pacing of the offseason was certainly different.

You had a bunch of guys sign right before the lockout, uh, including like Semian and Corey Seag.

in Texas for huge amounts of money, Max Scherzer with the Mets for a for a big big number.

And then you had all the moves right after the lockout uh in a cluster.

So I'm not sure how we'll see that play out this winter if teams will treat it the same way as let's get our guys when we can before the lockout uh versus let's be patient, let's see what value there is later on.

Yeah, I mean the the Mets were the first team to to come to a partnership with one of these companies, a company called Novig.

Uh and that happened on July 30th.

And on July 31st, the Attorney General of New York said uh filed a lawsuit against Calchi, another prediction market.

Uh so the timing of that was interesting.

One of the one of the experts I talked to called it pretty ballsy.

Uh that they're basically thinking that the the attorney general is not correct on the way that she's interpreting the law.

And then you've got the you know, the the Federal Bureau of the CFTC.

Saying basically that that the federal government is what decides this, not individual states.

So it's a complex legal picture.

What one guy told me, you know, if if you think you if someone tells you they know what's gonna happen legally here, they're lying to you because no one really knows how it's gonna play out.

Uh and so the teams kind of, you know, they're following the lead of the league.

The Major League Baseball came to an agreement with with Polymarket back in March.

Uh and so once that happened, then that kind of opened the door for teams to follow.
