How are you?

I think the Mets are just further along the stages of grief for the 2026 season than the Blue Jays are at this point.

They reached the resignation stage a while ago.

Yeah, that's about what the mood has been outside of like three months of 2024.

Yeah, my snap thought was I really liked it from Washington's perspective.

Meade, obviously, is a guy who was a major prospect earlier in his career, was traded for Christopher Sanchez at one point from Philly to Tampa Bay.

And, you know, it's taken a little while to find it, but it's had a really nice year this year.

But I don't know how well he fits that Red Sox, the defensive alignment.

I guess we're going to try him out at second base a little bit.

He seems more like a DH slash first baseman long term.

And they've got Wilson Contreras there.

And then from the Nats perspective, you get Connelly Early, who's, you know, maybe he's only a number four or number five starter for you, but he's under cost control for a long time.

Those guys are really valuable.

And in Washington, you know, they don't have much in their starting rotation beyond Foster Griffin and Cade Kabaly.

So that's really valuable for them as they try to build something that helps them out.

You know, maybe down the stretch this year, this might work.

hurt them in the short term because early is on the il so you lose a little bit from from the offense without gaining the pitching right away i think early will be back relatively soon uh but that helps them a lot in 2027 and beyond considering what what they've been able to do with their their kind of hitting development it's been a really impressive first season for for paul taboni in that front office in dc

Yeah, I mean, certainly comparing them to where the Mets stand in the National League East, you look at a Mets team where almost everyone has underperformed expectations, a National team where everyone has overperformed, and you wonder what the difference is.
