Oh yeah, my favorite topic, the Kansas State Fair debate.

Uh and they typically when there's a US Senate uh race, once they get the nominees and a governor's race, there's these uh raucous debates at the state fair and Hutchison outdoor debates and uh and in the past US Senate candidates have participated along with the gub gubernatorial candidates.

And I really hope that happens because although it

what may seem like a clown show with people banging on drums and yelling at the candidates and stuff, I think it really puts them under stress, pressure.

It's a very unconventional environment.

And can you think on your feet like that or are you rattled?

Are you rattled by dissent?

Are you rattled by people yelling at you that they don't like your policies?

Would would one of the candidates in that debate just get up and walk away?

Yeah, we have that would be great.

Uh we have some other statewide offices, of course, that uh we're thinking about.

And we're gonna have an attorney general's race.

There were no primary opposition uh for Democrat Chris Mann or Attorney General uh Chris Kobach, the Republican.

These two guys tangled four years ago.

Kobach won the attorney general's race and has served since then.

Uh mister Mann is an attorney and I think there were people that wanted him to perhaps consider running for governor, but he was dedicated to this attorney general's race and so we're gonna have a big knockdown drag out fight I would imagine.

You would imagine they would both have uh more resources.

Vicki Schmidt, the two term state insurance commissioner, ran for governor.

Obviously, therefore, cannot run for reelection to insurance commissioner.

And so we have two newcomers to this uh situation.
