I think he's the fourth best number eight.

And I think Willie Stargell is the fifth best number eight.

But that's a tough number.

On our podcast I had, last year we did From Ozzie to Oral, the greatest players of all time, number one through 55.

When we got to eight, it was like, oh, what am I going to do here?

There are so many good choices, just like number five.

DiMaggio, Pujols, Johnny Bench, Brooks Robinson, George Brett.

So there's some really interesting numbers, but eight is the good one.

If you're asking me, I think those other three guys, given the positions that they played, shortstop, second base and catcher, are slightly ahead of Carl Yastrzemski on the all-time eight list.

Well, defensively, it's not even close.

Carl Yastrzemski is arguably the greatest defensive left fielder.

I know he's the greatest defensive left fielder that I've ever seen.

Ricky Henderson in his prime was awfully good.

We don't give him enough credit for how he went to that line, would spin and throw the ball to second base.

Barry Bonds in his prime was a really good left fielder also.
