So yeah, I think if you put a lending lens on this or a risk lens, there are definitely some markets that if they do go through a more meaningful correction, there is going to be much more widespread levels of negative equity.
The RBA estimates negative equity in Australia is less than 1%.
But obviously, as prices fall, clearly, we will see more prevalence of negative equity and probably a pickup in arrears numbers as well.
Everyone's watching inflation, obviously.
We see another uptick in the core inflation numbers, like we saw through the May numbers then.
Yeah, I think it's game on for another 25 basis point hike.
I'm definitely not in the camp of two more rate hikes.
I think one more and we're done, hopefully, but that doesn't mean we're about to see rate cuts.
I think the second half of next year is when we'll see finally core inflation getting back to where the RBA wants it to be, and that'll be the trigger for rates coming down.
Yeah, I think to their credit, the government's very open to speaking with the private sector, with the marketplace.
So absolutely, we do provide briefings to different departments within the government.
What about the elected officials?
Yeah.
Yeah, I won't delve into that.
But yeah, I think with, say, Treasury, with RBA, with Human Services, I mean, a lot of these government departments are also clients of Cotality as well.
And with any of our clients, absolutely.
We do try to make sure that they're informed in the market trends and the sort of insights that we're producing.
