Because we made changes a year ago to transit visa rules, we're seeing Chinese airlines using Auckland as a stopping point to get up to South America.
It means we'll have a lot more access, so we can now more easily do trade.
uh around the european union on the back of that eu fda you've got some very very wealthy countries full of consumers that want what we've got they're starting to trade deals so we think there's big opportunities there and then around the edges of india and in africa you've got some developing economies big populations their their economies are starting to grow we want to get on the ground floor so that we have a really good position for qe exporters
You know, a decade from now, they'll be important.
But the EU, China, US, we don't want them to be there before us.
Well, nobody's ever easing the trade negotiation, but I think probably the areas you'd see us focus on first.
We've been having very high-level early conversations.
Brazil, Switzerland, Argentina, Uruguay, they're looking to join the CPTPP.
We're keen to get them in there.
Bangladesh is a very interesting one, $170 million.
They've just done a trade deal with the US.
We sell them quite a bit of dairy.
They've given the US a zero tariff rate.
That means it's going to be very hard for our exporters.
That probably has to be a priority just so we can keep selling in there and be competitive.
But we're saying over the next five years we would launch negotiations with all of these countries.
A fair proportion of them I think we can complete during that period of time as well.
No, that's not it at all.
I mean, countries of the world want to do trade deals, and it's sort of as a result of America.
It's not a plan B, but you've got to give certainty to your exporters.
