There is an acceptance that trade deals create that certainty.
They set up the rules.
You think about the three deals we've done over the last three years, the UAE, the GCC, which almost looked impossible, and then India 16 years ago, and people started talking about that.
But these countries are doing deals with others.
Mercosur, which are these South American countries, nobody's been able to really do a deal with them in a long time.
EU's just completed it.
So the world is starting to do deals.
It's not, you know, putting a timeline on something, you know, a measure in the ground to achieve something actually works across the board, not to be political.
Labour should have done that a bit more in our government.
Well, you can't unless it's election year and you just want to electioneer and get a few votes.
And we've just got to let that wash through a little bit.
There's going to be some noise around that from all sorts of parties, right?
But generally, ACT supports trade deals.
So does Labour.
I mean, to be overly kind to them, even the Greens supported one once, right?
So everyone knows that trade is good for New Zealand.
We've just got to, you know, there'll be domestic politics.

It's good for New Zealand so the country can be wealthier.
There have been a lot of stories like this swirling around over the last couple of weeks, where there have been hints and allegations that Russia is preparing something, whether against Poland, against Latvia.
