They found ways to win.
And now we have an absolutely mouthwatering semifinal against Argentina.
It does surprise me to a certain extent.
Obviously, there's loads of expats from England over in Australia.
I've got half of my family live in Brisbane, so on my mum's side.
So it doesn't shock me.
But obviously, the rivalry with the Ashes and many other sports is fierce.
Football, you know, Australia, whilst they've improved massively and did well in this tournament, obviously doesn't have the history that those other sports do.
So it doesn't shock me, I guess.
But no, nice to have
as many fans supporting England as possible because I think we're going to need it to get through this one.
Well, I think it's very different to, you know, eight years ago, as I said, when they made the semifinals at the World Cup in Russia, no one was really expecting it.
It was the sort of birth of this modern England where we actually go far in tournaments.
Now we're quite long in the tooth now, but it's about trying to get over the line.
That was the reason Thomas Tuchel came in.
He's obviously a German manager, but with great success with Chelsea, Bayern Munich,
Borussia Dortmund and other clubs he is a winner or he's got a track record of being a winner I remember being in Porto to see his Chelsea side beat Manchester City in the Champions League final back in 2021 so he's got that track record he's been brought in specifically to do that to get England over the line after a couple of near misses heartbreaking misses under Gareth Southgate I think there's a sort of steely determination about this squad you've got the likes of
Harry Kane, obviously, but Jordan Pickford, who I literally was in a press conference with him hours ago.
He's a player now on 90 caps.
He's been throughout this whole journey.
