The other part of this is that we may slow down what is available to the public, but in some ways you can't afford as a government to slow down because you've got to be thinking, um, even if you set aside the offensive capabilities, let's just say that sensible actors are not thinking about wanting to improve. matched

The ability to go on the attack, but they are thinking, I can't stop developing this because I need to be able to protect myself from being attacked. matched

And so that's the question that I think has to be answered before people can come to a conclusion as to whether or not the industry will actually slow down. matched

Now, consumers may get access to less and less of the frontier models, but my the way that I'm thinking about this is that the governments are not going to stop anytime soon in terms of building the side that is going to be weapons grade. matched

Now, if a matched

AI is basically like a genie that once it escapes the bottle, there's no way to put it back. matched

The question becomes, is AGI that moment? matched

Have we just, if this really is AGI, have we just crossed that threshold? matched

And so that's what's going to be debated in the coming weeks and months is was this the model that steps over that? matched

Is it going to be the next model? matched

Some people are saying that we passed that on the previous model. matched

And so that remains the sort of looming specter of all of this is um have we already lost containment? matched

Have we reached the point now where the AI is so capable, it's so determined that it's going to do now what it's going to do? matched

So that that remains the like just never-ending string of question marks that we're all going to be contending with. matched

Now, none of this means matched

That disaster is inevitable. matched

I want to be very clear about that. matched

And I also want to remind everybody at this stage where people's uh concerns are beginning to grow, which is precisely how you get a positive reinforcement loop of panic, um, that AI matched

Is also extraordinary. matched
