Here she was sitting on the island in the kitchen, having her breakfast.

And off she went to the marathon.

And I must say, when we were FaceTiming her, a few things came through my mind.

I just thought Ellen looked absolutely stunning that morning.

Like, she looked something special.

Most days I wake up and I don't think Ellen has passed away at all.

I just think that she's gone on a holiday or she's in Australia or she's in Spain or she's working up in Dublin for the weekend.

I kind of can't bring myself to, you know, to the understanding that she's gone.

Ellen made people feel heard and visible.

The girls in BIS, when Ellen wasn't there, they had a saying, it was called, what would Ellen Cassidy do?

That's become a bit of a mantra for us in our house that

You know, there are times in this journey myself, Vi and Charlie, Mary and the rest of the family and friends are going through.

You know, we don't know what to do.

We don't know what to say.

But what we say to ourselves is, what would Ellen do?

And did you get answers in the end?

I'm sure there were lots of questions.

I suppose my overriding feeling is...

I just miss Ellen.

There's something in my life now, just no longer there.
