Once they've booked with me, then the ceremony is in their hands because I want them to realize that they have control over the content.
But what I'm not saying there is that I provide them with a template
that will take them through a typical structure of a ceremony.
I mentioned earlier that this is not a Catholic Mass.
So aside from that and Greek Orthodox ceremonies, almost every ceremony that you see is a fairly standard American wedding ceremony.
It follows a very logical pattern.
And it's a skeleton, in my opinion.
And the couple is presented with a template that lets them see that logical progression
through a wedding ceremony, and then I provide them with content and suggestions and ideas and scripting that they can see various examples of what can be said for any one of those individual elements.
for example, a really common part of any ceremony is when the bride walks down the aisle on the arm of a loved one.
And in the old days, and even now, the clergy would say, who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Well, for any number of reasons, that phrase may not be appealing to the couple.
So when they come to that part in the template,
I'll ask them, do you plan to have a presentation?
And if so, then they pick from five or six different questions that I would say.
I can say, who gives their blessing for this man and woman to be married today?
There's another one that includes both sides of the family.
So they don't have to go with the standard, well, this is what you're going to say, or this is what I'm going to say, you know, love it or leave it kind of thing.
I give them examples of different things that I can say that's more palatable for them.
The things that they want to hear their friends and family hear me say.
