If it's in your budget, it might just be easier to pay for international roaming because a lot of times that works.
T-Mobile is really good because they offer you free international roaming.
Now, there's a cap option.
on the high speed data.
I think you get like five gigabytes a day before it drops down.
And I have run into that cap when I've tried to just rely on T-Mobile's free data.
So what I did on these trips,
I did what's called an eSIM, and KT Data referred to that in his question.
And depending on your phone, now, if you have a newer phone, you're probably fine.
If you've been keeping your phone for five years, you might need to check.
It might have an eSIM, it might not.
But eSIM is basically an electronic version of the old SIM card.
You used to have to go to the airport or go to your local store or go to a store after you landed and buy a SIM card and then pop it in.
I had to do this in Canada once where we got to Vancouver, we went to a store, we're like, we need a SIM card.
And so they sold us a SIM card and installed it and like, hold on to your old SIM card because there was only one slot.
You don't have to do that anymore with an eSIM.
With an eSIM, the SIM cards are virtual cards.
They are stored on your phone.
You can actually have more than two, but most phones will be able to manage two active ones at a time.
And that is key to how I approach this.
