He was such a great leader during, I was deep in the AIDS pandemic. I imagine you were too in your training. It all came to the residents back in those days and the fellows. And he was a wonderful source of leadership and information. I was there when the AZT was opened up. Yes, it was not a great drug, but it was something. We were moving forward.
We could keep these guys alive for three months instead of zero. In terms of listening to the suffering, my God, was there suffering back then. It was an unbelievable time. And no one's around to tell the story except the caretakers because all the patients died. It was a terrible, terrible time. And they were waiting for vaccines. Yeah, I know.
There was some talk of it, but we were mostly thinking about therapeutics at the time, as I recall. But I appreciate you being here. We will look for you again soon to help us make sense of these complicated processes. We'll look for your writings at Brownstone. You should definitely go to Brownstone Institute to get the writings. In fact, I don't think I've been getting the emails lately.

That's it, right? So this has been kind of portrayed, I think, oversimplified in a lot of ways. Now, transhumanism, when it comes to rewiring a paralyzed guy's spine so that he can walk again, that's awesome, right? Helping a blind person see, that's an amazing thing, and that's a good thing. And that's what we hear about when we talk about transhumanism.
Now, there's another side of it, though, right? The other side of it is things like AI integration with your consciousness, right? Now, that sounds like science fiction. I mean, it sounds absurd.
But the reality is that we already have a number of instances where people are using, Elon Musk is working on, for example, a number of different technologies where someone can move a cursor with their mind and interact with a computer with their mind. Our military has been doing that for a long time.
The problem is if you can think and move a computer, that means that you have two-way communication. It's both reading your thoughts and you're providing thoughts to it, right? So it's two ways. You're hearing from them. It's hearing from you. That creates a situation that's very, very dangerous, right?
