I was tapped out.
That was it.
So like I just I wasn't prepared for for really what life was was going to be about.
And is and is is I don't know, is prepared for anything as you think you are.
You know, again, I'd got my college degree.
I'd had, you know, I think at least I had two kids at the time.
You think you're prepared for it.
The loss of something that you've been involved in for that long.
I started playing football as I was seven or eight years old, and then I retired at 28, 29.
So the vast majority of my life included football.
The void that was created by not...
having football in my life anymore.
Even if you think you're the most, you know, together person on the face of the planet, the void is enormous and you do wander a little bit.
So I guess to kind of connect the dots here, I really love the industry, but I was still kind of lost in my own mind drifting, you know, God, should I still be playing football or what?
So, I mean, the first go-around was a little tough getting your feet, you know, dug in and getting your foundation built.
But that's what I remember most is like, hey, this is great, but I still had this huge void, and how am I going to fill it?
I got to be honest with you.
I think that being hired by WGN, because this was like a natural progression for me, like the original start at WMVP, you could just feel like that was not, over the course of time, it wasn't going to last.
I don't think Jim Cozumor and I were a good match.
He's gone on and done really good things.
