I don't know if the players get to do that anymore with the referees but back then jeez you could you'd bump into these guys and you see them in a completely different context to being on the pitch where you're having a yes sir no sir three bags full sir and it was just great to actually have a beer with them and then a couple of years later or a couple of weeks later or months later you'd see them in the dressing room and up in Belfast and there's just you know they're there with the job on and I'm there with the job on we both look at each other and go let's not talk about that yeah

And that must have been very difficult as him, if looking back on it, he got it wrong and it had a huge impact.
