The auteur is the one who is the director, and they're the one who's directing everything, producing the film.
I'm sure a lot of your listeners are familiar with John Gruber, maybe some aren't, but John Gruber, huge tech blogger, and he had a very interesting tech blog, still runs it today.
And one of his theories was a product or a process ultimately approaches the level of taste of the auteur.
And so if the person who's calling the shots loves to think creatively, loves to optimize things, then...
Everything that they touch is going to approach that same level.
And so I think that people who are just like, oh, let's just get the job done.
Just we're going to do it the same way we've always done it can be a major hindrance.
And I think that if you have these fresh set of eyes and these people who are creative challengers, those are the auteurs that disrupt things.
Right.
Yeah, and I just think it's tough to screen for that specific trait.
You really got to know people and know these different personality types in order to bring them on and have a successful and optimized environment.
It's a cultural thing, for sure.
Yeah, I mean, you see it all the time.
Like you said, people love to be self-proclaimed.
They're the hardest worker in the room.
And it's great when that actually happens to be the case.
Sometimes it's not the case, though.
Yeah.
I mean, but you're in the right room.
