And so, like I was saying earlier, I think that the companies that ultimately will win are those that can provide these modular experiences.

Users can dig a little bit deeper if they need to.

They can access what's available by default.

And for your example, maybe there's a specific...

health metric that you were looking for.

And maybe it's not available there by default, but maybe there's another layer that or another destination that you can access to go and get it.

And I think now more than ever, it's been incredibly easy to provide those types of experiences for users.

So MCP, Model Context Protocol.

Basically what an MCP is, you can think of it as an API where data is just being... You're creating data, you're reading data, updating it, deleting it.

A lot of MCPs are just kind of API wrappers where they can kind of do those basic things.

But an MCP can also be...

another layer deeper where maybe an MCP has a specific tool where it runs a workflow for you.

For example, for your health app, if you had an MCP, you could say, hey, every time I finish a workout, I want you to send an email to my friends and just

brag about how i've just finished this workout and share all the stats with them and so those are kind of two different apis right that would be working together but they're accomplishing one goal and so you can kind of really build out those workflows with an mcp that you kind of couldn't have done with apis and it would have required a lot of development work but now you can just

chat with an LLM to say, hey, I finished a workout and it would already know, okay, now I need to let people know.

Plaid has an MCP and Plaid built an incredible platform where they basically plug into just about every financial institution and they've kind of

been this open banking layer for the U.S.

And so now everyone's transaction data, all of their financial data, their holdings can be exposed through Plaid in a safe and secure way.

And so now I can bring my financial data into an LLM chatbot, which probably is a little bit concerning to some.
