It's not for everybody.
It's hard.
It's difficult.
And so there's this balance that we always have to have.
And I think anyone who's played the game understands it.
You understand the risk when you sign up to play the game of football, but you also understand those risks are greatly outweighed by the impact, the positive impact that football has on an individual.
of what you learn about yourself and about how to work with others and being a part of a team and having discipline and perseverance.
Those are all great qualities that travel throughout any walk of life.
And so there's this balance, and that's the foundation of what football is.
But at the same time, with all the data and all the science and all the technology we have, how can we make it as safe as possible?
And so have a set of rules that protect the integrity of the game and the foundation of the game of football while at the same time making it as safe as possible for all players who play it.
And to be an example for, you know, we have to think about football for our players, our current players who've played the game.
who aren't going to play the game, that go out and entertain our millions and millions and millions and billions of fans that watch this game around the world.
At the same time, we're an example of how the game should be played to every young person who's playing it all the way starting in Pop Warner.
So I think the importance of making sure we have rules that protect the game of football and at the same time make it as safe as possible and teaching it to be played the right way are critical.
And those are the things that are important to me because the game of football
has been a huge part of my life.
I mean, I have the wife I have because of the game of football, because there's no way I was getting in the USC and my dad was not paying for it.
And so I look at my wife, and I look at my friendships, and I look at the things I've learned from the game.
That's a big part of who I am as an individual, my family and everything else.
