He was the most recognized human being on the planet.
He was just i incredible.
Um he uh he also a bit like Dennis Luther, he reinvented himself after being banned from uh boxing for three years 'cause he refused to go into the uh serve America in the war.
Um caught up and he didn't want to go.
So he went from speed so he was just lightning quick, um float like a butterfly, s sting like a bee, incredible speed for a heavyweight.
And then he just used obviously the rope a dope tactics in the um
Um uh rumble in the jungle against George Foreman, who was just considered unbeatable and we know what he did.
It was amazing.
And then the best uh fight I've ever seen was the thriller in Manila, which is third fight against Joe Frazier, which was just an extraordinary um fight.
Uh was a huge cultural icon.
We used to watch his fights at school.
We were allowed to go into the right.
Yeah, you're uh T V in one of the rooms, a couple of rooms, and we were allowed to go in and watch his fight.
So he made a comeback fight after missing three, three and a half years against Jerry Quarry in nineteen seventy one.
We watched that and yeah, it was just amazing.
So uh incredible charisma, boxing intelligence, his pre-fight predictions.
He he was much bigger than boxing alone.
Yeah.
So he was just he was huge.
