Yeah, I feel like I didn't have any crazy experiences as a kid in the industry.
I just always felt like I was kind of one foot in, one foot out.
Like I'd get signed, didn't work out, you know, go back to the drawing board, go in my room, be sad, write some songs, which was, I mean, that's how I discovered songwriting.
It's like, oh, I have stuff to say now.
Yeah, an outlet.
So, but yeah, I think when it comes to self-worth,
It was, yeah, it was hard for me to separate the approval and applause and like the praise from, that I would get from people from this gift that I have.
You know, I would, that was my self-worth.
And then I think as I got older...
and started to have more doors closed, like things just wouldn't work out.
Labels just didn't really know what to do with me.
That really sucked because then I'm like, oh, now I don't have self-worth or what am,
you know, who even am I if I don't have this praise from other people or if I'm not singing, you know, who am I?
So I definitely struggled with that.
I think that's where my faith really came into play because, you know, I grew up going to church, grew up learning about Jesus,
And I think it was somewhere around high school where I would say before high school, I still had a very real, pure relationship with God, but then it became way more personal around high school.
And
i think that's where that that's really the only other place i knew to turn to get any sort of worth you know and and reading like oh i'm even if i don't have music and all the stuff goes away i'm still a child of god i'm still like this is where i get my identity from so i think that was
that started to shape really like the foundation of who I was.
And, um, I've always just kept coming back to that.
