So I said, I'm going to pick him up.

And then when I got to the school, he was in one of the classrooms and he was crying.

And he was listening to the radio, to the last words of Salvador Allende.

And then shortly after that, we saw the bombing of the palace from the school.

We saw the planes coming.

We heard the noise.

We saw the smoke.

And so we realised that something absolutely horrible was happening.

After some months of this, I realized that if any of those people would have been arrested and tortured, they would have had to say where they had been hiding, and I would be targeted.

Then I found out I was in a list.

So I lived in terror.

I got a rash all over my body.

I couldn't sleep.

And so I left for Venezuela.

In 1981, on January 8th,

We received the news that my grandfather was dying in Chile, and I started a letter for him.

The idea was to tell my grandfather that I remembered everything, that I remembered everything he had told me, his life, and that would not be forgotten.

So it started with the first anecdote that I ever heard, which was the story of my great-aunt Rosa, who was my grandfather's fiancé, and she died mysteriously right before the marriage.

Apparently she was poisoned.

We don't know if by accident or it was a crime.
