That said, I think Luka is the better pick and roll half court maestro.
I think there are why both guys are phenomenal passers, two of the best passers in the NBA.
I do think there are some differences between the two.
And what we're starting to see is LeBron with the second unit
really finding success, particularly when that second unit has guys around him that also provide some athleticism and especially defense, and they're able to get stops and get LeBron out in transition with athletic players running with him.
So that means no Luka, no Austin on the floor, just LeBron James, and then when he's surrounded by athletic types, what he's been able to do has been really impressive.
So right now, the Lakers...
Do not assume that this is going to continue, by the way.
They're plus 36.5.
Small sample size, of course.
We're only talking about 49 possessions.
But plus 36.5 in those 49 possessions, that is not sustainable.
But I do think it reflects something interesting that the Lakers are stumbling upon here.
Now, they had been leaning heavily into either Luka or Austin on the floor.
And obviously that's not possible with Austin out right now.
And then LeBron being kind of the third guy and one of Austin or Luca must be on the court at all times.
Now we're seeing these units with just LeBron and.
The results are encouraging right now, and you can see this is even in the half court.
LeBron steps into a three, but look what they're able to do.
Look at just the hustle right there.
