The Drop | Pacers Do It Again, Hali's Clutch Run & The Finals Demand More Pageantry

But, but, but, all that said, the Pacers won the rebound battle last night. They did. That's big. Especially in a game where you're going to turn it over on so many damn possessions. You're going to hopefully want to win at least the rebounding battle. Those guys were scrappy. Like, what's the box score? It's like Siakam with 10 boards. Neesmith with 12 boards. Halliburton had 10 boards.

So everybody obviously getting on the glass to give them a chance and give them those either second chances or to end a possession and get the stop. Yeah.

You're like, hey, they're adapting to us. We know what we are. We know how we're going to play and we know how we're going to start this game. So, I guess a little bit, but like you said, it's not like Indiana was up at the end of the first quarter, but despite everything being turned over, they somehow were not down huge.

Every time you were like, this game feels like, okay, this is sort of crushing them, and it was like, oh, it's an 8-point game. No, it's a 10-point game. Never really out of it all that much.

I loved SGA's quote after the game. He said, it's a 48-minute game. The Pacers teach you that lesson more than anybody else in the league the hard way. Facts right there. It's like, they had them. I mean, they had them for, what would you call it? I don't know, 40 minutes, if not longer. They felt comfortable with it and then took their foot off the gas a little bit and the Pacers do what they do.

Here's a question for you. Is Halliburton currently having the greatest clutch playoff run in NBA history? Like when you go through it, because despite only 14 points, he has made the key shot in every one of the Pacers for ridiculous comebacks this postseason. Game five versus the Bucs. Game two versus the Cavs. Game one versus the Knicks. And now game one in the NBA Finals versus the Thunder.

Right. Since the NBA play-by-play era. People are comparing it like, because that comes in, what, 96, 97, the play-by-play era. So you can't like, we don't have like the clutch numbers for your birds and your magics and even a lot of your Jordans, right? But Jordan 98, clutch as hell. Robert Ori, 2002. A few LeBrons to pick from.

either 07 13 18 i mean there's probably some other ones 2011 dirk to go back to that mavericks uh miraculous run that they did so it's right there is my point it like has to be i mean they go on to win the title as one of the biggest upsets of all time as the only force he'd ever do it then then hell he might have to go to the top of the list but right now he's just completely in the mix with these goats basically
