But there are a group called the Confederados who leave for Brazil.
And and that they set up a there between two and four thousand of them.
They set up a society that is still there to this day.
Why do they go to Brazil?
Because that is one of the only countries that still allows enslaved people.
And they're looking for people that know cotton and know and know slavery.
So they go there.
There's some that go to Mexico.
They don't stay there very long.
So there is a and then there's another group that just goes out west.
The Confederates go everywhere.
In fact, to this day, there are groups of Confederate that are in California.
They're no longer Confederates, but they have Confederate daughters of the Confederacy that are still in California and in many of the states out West.
They go all over the country and even the world.
Yeah.
Every year they have a celebration about it.
But why did they go to Brazil?
Cheap land, demand for their cotton growing expertise.
And boy, they have legal slavery until 1888.
So there are a bunch of people that go there.
