So he dies not ever having to pay the price for his treason.

If it is, where would it be held?

Would it be held in Virginia or Washington or in the North?

And if you do, is it going to be a jury trial?

Under what crime would you do it under?

So there were a bunch of different issues that were coming.

And eventually it just becomes, listen, this is too hard for us to figure out how to do it.

And he is finally paroled and then released.

But but I mean, it is amazing that remember this Jefferson Davis was a secretary of war prior to this.

He's a West Point graduate.

He's a veteran of the Mexican war.
