Oxidative colour would literally not work.

So it's not an optional, it's a mandatory for these systems.

So coming to ammonia, um, ammonia, and I I mean I still love ammonia, so uh because I think it's is uh the the the best uh alkalizer you can use for a permanent color when you want to have a rich, intense, um precise color.

Color result because ammonia is a small molecule, it efficiently opens the cuticle and does the job inside the hair and is a volatile molecule, so it evaporates.

That's actually why you can smell it, because it evaporates.

And then compared to monoethanolamine, which is MEA, MEA is also an alkalyzer, it also raises the pH.

But it's a larger, heavier molecule, stays longer in hair, is a bit slower in how it acts, and hence is not volatile and hence it's not smelling.

So that's why it's sometimes it's perceived as the more cosmetic.

And it's very commonly used in demipermanent color because you need there no lift, only deposit.

So it's um kind of a more cosmetic appearance because you're not smelling.

So no, but uh um honestly it's like uh I think um Because it seems to me that uh you know when you talk in industry oh ammonia

Uh absolutely is like that.

Um so and and actually I I don't know when that happened because ammonia is in the industry for decades without any problems.

But out of a sudden you got the bad guy.

And I think the only reason for that is because it smells.
